Dr. Zimmerman was born in southern California and grew up in Peru, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed General Surgery Residency at the University of Arizona. He then completed a Trauma & Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. His clinical and research interests include general surgery, operative trauma interventions, hemorrhagic shock & resuscitation, and chest wall reconstruction. Outside the hospital, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors (running, biking, golfing), and traveling.
