Dr. Afaneh was born and raised in the Detroit area. He completed both his undergraduate studies as well as Medical School at Wayne State University in Detroit. He then completed his General Surgery residency at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit. He completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship as well as a AAST Acute Care Fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He enjoys reading, watching movies, eating good food and traveling. Above all he loves the art of surgery and being in the operating room. His surgical interests include damage control resuscitation, TBI management & chest wall reconstruction.
